Groot Trek day 43 - Fox Glacier

Well, the weather has lifted a bit. Today, I have been up on to the glacier on a guided tour.

1.5 hours up, including the famed 500 steps, about an hour wandering on the ice and another 1.5 hours back down those bloody steps. Going up, you get incredibly hot and perspire so much you need to peel off at least one clothing layer.

Once on the ice. the cold gets to you and your layer(s) quickly go back on.

Coming down, it heat-up time again and by the time you get on the bus all you want is several cold beers and a shower. Perhaps in the opposite order ;-)
