Sacadas
Our island is well into the harvest season and images such as this are a common sight. It is back breaking work, but Filipinos are a hard working and resilient people, we adjust accordingly. With a population of 83 million and rising exponentially, any work will do.
I stopped for a few shots of the sacadas as they loaded cane onto the trailers. Inspite of the heavy burden they were carrying, they still offered me a smile when they saw my camera.
This is another step of the sugar process before it reaches our tables.
