Red Leaf
Yestrday evening, more likely it was the early hours of this morning, seeing as it was gone midnight when I switched off the TV after watching the Dallas Cowboys get ripped apart by the New York Giants, I saw two splendid fall colour pictures among my subscriptions -- ionnature and distracted housefrau -- and it put me in mind of trying to capture something similar.
In northeast Florida, we cannot boast the magnificent autumnal glory of more northerly climes but I have noticed this tree close to my home and the gorgeous red of its leaves. I am afraid, I do not know what kind of tree it is. Perhaps some arborial expert can furnish the name.
In fact, I tried to capture one of the leaves yesterday but got the background too washed out. Today I changed my angle and shot upwards, with the azure sky as the background, and ended up with a far more pleasing shot, at least from a technical point of view -- maybe from an artistic point of view as well.
Anyway, it found favour with the CEO, although it was a close run thing -- she also liked this shot.
