Our small friends

It felt like the end of a hard week last night, after my presentation to Council yesterday evening. Exhausted, but pleased to find I had the solid support of fellow councillors. At last, we can now move forward with a head of steam, feeling we will not be alone.

This morning I've been feeling dull-witted, like the sky, wanting to switch off and go back to bed. But duty prevailed as I attended to messages and requests. Eventually the door-bell rang and my special delivery package arrived in the hands of our rain-soaked postman.

Helena was looking after Eileen's kids for a couple of hours this morning, while mum went to work, running them around Stroud Museum to absorb their energy. They all returned for lunch consisting of a fine assemblage of salad leaves from the greenhouse, garlic pancetta, tasty sun-dried toms, black olives, toasted sunflower and pumpkins seeds, beetroot, crisp carrots and cheese. Yummy.

I struggled to get used to my new lens, which I'd only been using for the last few minutes. When we had finished eating, Kirsty slowed down enough for me to focus, whilst her brother Freddy listened to her opinion that David Tennant is or was the best Dr. Who ever. I wouldn't know.

ps
.... and thanks Sarah H, for your several recommendations, and my introduction to this promising new avenue. A bit scary at the moment, but I have high hopes!
