to cross or not to cross

No matter what else I saw today I think I knew I'd have to post this bloke.

Even if the caption "So then I grabbed and squeezed as hard as I could until they both popped," cannot be applied to him.

As I saw him from the roundabout I thought that if I did the usual suddenly-stop-and-retrieve-camera move that the sudden movement might alert him so I casually undid the bag as I walked past then slid to the side of the pavement up-sight of him. Unfortunately he then turned. I took the shot anyway. I hope he didn't see me smirking guiltily as I turned and moved swiftly on. It might be a little impolite to do this sort of thing but crossing a line? He was standing smoking in a public street in an amusing manner so I reckon it's not unreasonable to record.
