Tom Swift

Anybody remember Tom Swift?
Really?
Even I'm a bit young to have encountered him. This is Tom Swift Jr. I read him in the mid 50's. Tom was a precocious young lad who was a wiz at both science and engineering. Today we'd likely call him a nerd. To me, back then, he was just the most cool person you could ever have as a friend. We went on many adventures together.

The marble bookend is almost as old. I gave them as a Christmas present to my Mom in 1960. One is gone, as is my Mom. This one carries on - I use it now as a weight to keep prints from moving as I "T" hinge them in place on their matte's backer board.
