Agios Dionysos detail - holiday day 6
After the previous day's trip to Zakynthos town, we decided on a trip back to the place, having discovered it was only about a 15 minute drive. Ironically for a place so close to the resort we were staying in, it is very difficult to get to, unless you have a car. The buses run on GMT, as the rep told us, Greek Maybe Time. In fact I didn't ever see a bus, despite my desire for us to go by bus, having sussed out timetables before leaving on holiday.
We visited a beautiful church in town, Agios Dionysos and managed to see another and several little shops and a cafe. nIdeally it would have been better for us to stay in an apartment in the town, but if I am honest, I actually think that the resort where we were had so much for the younger section of club107 that it removes the potential hassles and problems. When I was younger and more naive, I would have possibly scoffed at such a holiday, you get what it what you will is my current philosophy. So we hire a car and we wander a wee bit and we embrace kids club activities with great gusto. Children do love to belong to a club.
I spoke to someone today whose partner was very reluctant to drive in Greece because he feared they would be eratic. I actually find them to be very courteous drivers and sensed no aggression in the drivers whatsoever.
