Children's Games

The history of the Potter's Fields, near Tower bridge, has little importance to this boy, who is enjoying playing chicken with the fountains in this refurbished park' Potters Fields Park has inextricable links with the past. For instance, even its name has two possible origins. The area was once known for the production of English Delftware pottery; Potters Fields were also traditionally cemeteries for unknown or poor people. The park was indeed once a graveyard, with several burial sites. Some of the gravestones are still visible.
The surrounding area also has a great historical heritage, with adjacent Butlers and Hays Wharves famous for importing items such as tea, coffee and spices into City from the far flung corners of the World
