Sac vs Pip

Made it back from South Korea - and straight into a gig at the Lemon Tree (possibly my favourite venue in Aberdeen). I thought it would be cool to bring out the D70 again, since I have neglected it (for weight reasons) for the trip to Korea.

I'm so glad I did, I got some nice shots of support act (Misty's Great Adventure - fantastic, they sound like nothing else on earth, and have a man in a suit with lots of hands dancing, Bez-like).

I managed to get down to the front, off to the side of the stage so that I wouldn't be obtrusive in taking the photos (both for the crowd, and so that I didn't have to set off the flash to disturb the guys on stage). I managed about 4 out-of-focus / too dark / too blurry photos and one reasonable one (here) before I got asked who I was taking photos for - told to holster the camera! D'oh! I was just taking for myself, not wanting to make money off the shots, but you have to respect the artist.

To cut a long story short - Dan Le Sac is on twitter (@danlesac), I asked him if I could post the one good shot...he agreed, and here it is!

I am definitely wanting to give this another shot...music and photography, what bliss!
