La bella vita
Today was spent with my girlfriends in the National Trust's Sissighurst Castle Garden and it was a gorgeous autumnal day. We explored the orchard, the old boathouse and the tower and gardens where Vita Sackville-West spent many an autumn afternoon I imagine. Her library/study room in the tower was amazing, floor to ceiling lined with books with a lovely glow streaming in through the windows. And this picture was taken on the way up the spiral staircase to the top of the tower. After our jaunts up the tower we decided to have a spot of lunch which was delicious fodder from the Sissinghurst Vegetable Plot and then a browse in the NT shop. This is what Friday afternoon's should be about!
