LANDSCAPE IN THE MIST
This is what I don't love about autumn. For any one bright day with brilliant colours there are lots similar to this. This particular kind of fog rolls in so fast that as I was changing the camera settings to perhaps get a better shot of this scene, it disappeared entirely and there was nothing there but a wall of fog. (The trees on the horizon are about six kms away.) Not only that, I can watch it come up the hill, through the trees until -- gotcha -- and we are surrounded in fog and silence. I always feel like running for my life but there is no escape. It makes the clutter inside the house seem even worse. I think it's throw-out day.
The same scene at night: Darkness falls.
And then there is this one, a long shot of the whole valley. The valley five minutes before total darkness.
