The Reel Deal!

This is perhaps a slightly different take on Assignment22 from most...Fishing lines!

This little fishing reel and rod were a Birthday present from my parents for my 14th or 15th Birthday. As you can see its been well used, its a modest little kit and ive never had the need/money to upgrade it apart from the fishing line which I upgraded in the summer!

Believe it or not the line is the most important piece of equipment, perhaps a bit like the lens on your camera. It gives your fly life, and sits it gently on top of the water surface....the better your line the better you can present your fly as a tasty piece of lunch to a hungry trout...

Im finding photography a little like fishing....you can spend a fortune on fancy equipment to make the task easier, better, more effective but unless you have the basic skills then its all completely useless!
