Mills Observatory

As the weather was quite good today I went out for a cycle with my eldest daughter Natalie, the aim was to try and cycle up to the Mills Observatory in Balgay Park. I knew this would be a bit of a challenge for Natalie as she's not used to riding up hills at all, however, she managed some of the hills quite well but we did take a short cut up the paths walking our bikes (rather, I walked both bikes!) up to the Observatory itself.

The Mills Observatory is unique in that it is the only full-time public observatory in the UK, it also has the only surviving observatory dome in the world made from papier-mâché. It's open to the Public, it's free and is well worth a visit.

You can read more about the Mills Observatory on wikipedia.
