Why did the turtle cross the road?
So with Michigan's great budget crisis and the government going insane trying to figure out what to do Muskegon decides to take matters into its own hands.
While other counties are doing things to save money, we decide to do what Muskegon does best.
Screw things up even more.
How are we screwing things up even more you might ask?
By building a half million dollar turtle fence.
Yes, a fence that stretches along US-31 and was created exclusively to keep turtles off the roads.
I love turtles as much as the next guy don't get me wrong. They're absolutely adorable and I wish I had one in an aquarium that I could feed lettuce to everyday - but spending half a million dollars to build a fence to keep them off the roads is getting a little out of control.
I mean, it's wonderful that I won't hit a turtle - but now what are we going to do about those pesky squirrels, raccoons, possums, rabbits and deer that get in my way during my morning commute!
I propose that Muskegon finds a billion dollars and builds the great wall of Michigan all the way up and down US31 to keep every single animal off the street.
And when we're done saving every single turtle, squirrel, raccoon, possum, rabbit and deer - We can start worrying about education, health care, poverty and other issues that are no where near as important as that poor turtle who tried to cross the road.
(Hopefully anyone who actually read through that caught onto my sarcasm and how ridiculous I think it is that we're building a fence instead of worrying about more important things)
