Wedding at the museum

I worked in the morning and Fred picked up his new Birdy bicycle (great excitement!), then we donned our gladrags and caught the train to the Horniman Museum to celebrate the wedding of a couple of friends. The ceremony was held in the conservatory of the museum and there were blue skies and bright sun.

This blip was taken while we were waiting for our transport to the reception. A routemaster bus took everyone from the museum in Forest Hill to Barnes and a great deal of champagne was drunk. Since the journey took longer than expected due to the rush hour, we all drank more than we should and the Scottish contingent on the bus (three of us) were held back from singing the all-famous song "Stop the bus I need a wee-wee", but we were definitely singing it loudly in our heads! So, it was a tipsy lot who stumbled out of the bus to the home of Sarah's bridesmaid's dad, who had kindly opened the place to the party and set up a grand marquee in the garden. Of course, the first place we all ran to was the WC! The queues were impressive.

We ate, drank some more, danced and met lots of interesting and lovely people. A wedding most memorable. Russell and Sarah make a fantastic , gorgeous couple and I wish them so much happiness for their future together. Yay for Mr and Mrs McL!
