The electric boiler feedwaterpump, seen from the so-called machine floor, this is the floor where the main steamturbine and generator are located.
In this picture you can see the main characteristics of this pump.
I was planning to make a picture of the main feedwatertank, high in the machine room, but the light was not good enough.
But on my way op I saw this one, also I could see the cleaning is not so good as we wish....
At the left is the boosterpump, which leads the feedwater from the feedwatertank to the main pump which is located at the right of the electric motor (the blue box in the middle) (8000KWatts, appr 10700 Horsepower).
The piping between the booster and the main pump is onder the "table" on which the pump is standing.
You need a boosterpump to avoid cavitation in the suction side of the pump, pumping the water from a pressure of ± 2 bar up to ± 180 bar.
The green below the grating is one of the two main cooling waterducts.
