The tree man came today, so I'm giving you a before and after shot (very cleverly put together in Photoshop, all by myself!). It was a bit of a shock but once they start, there isn't much you can do about it - a bit like a haircut. However, on reflection, I think the tree will be fine next year once it has started growing again, and he assured me that it would grow quickly, but I think that too much was taken off the bush in the corner but that was probably my fault for not being clear enough. But hey. It will grow. And it will give more light into the garden to let other things grow - when I plant them!
