new address, old building. all the buildings in my neighbourhood have generic address plates. sometime in the past week, they started to install new ones with romanized writing in addition to the korean characters. this follows a project from the summer whereby street (name) signs were installed. seoul is a hodge podge mess of streets with changing names and an inconsistent address system that is slowly being modernized. in this old neighbourhood, these bold new signs stand out. part of the somewhat charming mystery of these unnamed roads and randomly numbered buildings is slowly disappearing. sometimes ignorance is bliss.
