Hawea

Fabulous day to wake up to in Wanaka. Sunny, no wind, views of the mountains - bliss!

A quick breakfast and then Kiwidino and I jumped on our bikes and did a 32K ride around shore of Lake Hawea. Fabulous place and a great day to do it. This view was the turnaround point of the ride, look closely and you'll see KD on the bluff.

Then home and we swapped, the girls went out for a ride. They did nearly 45K and got back late, although by that stage we had drained and refilled the pool, and had taken all the kids into town to the playground and bookshop. Fabulous afternoon also!

Then home, some reading, a bike course and "riding the plank". And then ... KD rode of the deck, cartwheeled, landed on his head and neck. Fine, but as a precaution he was carted away by ambulance and is tonight in Dunstan Hospital awaiting an x-ray.

Moral of the story. Leave the jumping to people in their twenties, not forties ;-)
