Terrace Project

While in Morocco I had the opportunity to work on an agricultural project. The goal was to make a model of a hillside terrace system, which will hold in more water and allow the farmers to plant on the side of a hill.

We were out here for 3 days with pick axes and shovels carving steps into the side of the hill.

The farmer will get less plantable land, but in theory each plant should produce more grain because of the water retained by the terraces.

This wasn't my idea. I was just brought along to move dirt and had the opportunity to snap some shots as well.
