Tramlines, Murraygate, Dundee
The second day of my two-day training course in Dundee.
A rainy start in Aberdeenshire this morning, which again turned to sunshine somewhere around Montrose. By the afternoon, however, this had turned to rain, as is clear from this photograph of these surviving tracks of the former municipal tram system in Murraygate.
At least, I like to imagine they are surviving relics of that long-lost era; in fact, closer examination showed that these must have been old sections of rail laid down when the street was pedestrianised: there are no frogs where the rails cross on these turnouts that would allow trams to actually use this crossover.
