Feeding the chickens
We went to our friends rescue farm this morning. They have a many different animals: A llama, an alpaca, a couple of peacocks, many chickens, and lots of goats!
The first goat that they acquired is named Josie. Her and her brother were born at a local farm premature and the mother refused to feed them. Sadly, her brother didn't make it, and it was a huge struggle for Josie. She was lacking nutrients, didn't want to eat, and developed bad arthritis in her front legs. Many people volunteered to help care for her at that farm.
Our friends, Rob and Julie, decided that they wanted to take Josie back to their house along with another goat named Einstein. They had them living in their house, feeding them every few hours, and even had them doing water aerobics in their kitchen sink.
Sadly, Josie ended up losing her back hooves due to frostbite that she got while back at her first home at the farm. She now has to have her back feet cleaned daily and wrapped (usually in bright fun colors!). She is thriving and is doing well now!! :)
I was hoping Josie and Einstein were going to come down for a few pictures with Jack, but the only ones who came over were the chickens today. They love when Jack feeds them long grass and straw!
Happy Thursday everyone....I hope you are all having a great day!
