Pilot

What a relief to see the pilot boat blasting out towards us at Kristiansund.

The last two days must have been the most prolonged transit in bad weather I've done. Luckily I don't get sick, but it's almost impossible to sleep (even on the floor, you just keep sliding around), and because your muscles are working continually just to keep you in one place it adds to the fatigue.

It's also a relief as it's a fearsome entry through the hundreds of submerged rocks and low islands that litter the Norweigan coast, most of them barely visible in waves of over 6m....
