Happy 1st Birthday Aidan!

My gorgeous boy turned 1 today! It's been such a fast year. Plenty of love & laugher (me & Aidan) and tears & tantrums (Mr Mono)!

This isn't the best photo but I love Aidan's smile in this photo. Believe it or not it was very sunny today and the sun was in face on the while he was on the swing.

We got up this morning and encouraged Aidan to try to open and play with his toys. He wasn't great at opening them but had lots of fun playing with them. Then he fell asleep for nearly 2 hours! This meant we weren't able to go out the house till later. We hadn't really set our minds on where we'd go until we were in the car. We ended up going to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre. It was very cold today but there are plenty of bits inside to help take the edge off.

We then headed to The Centre for a spot of lunch where Aidan behaved very well. I was very impressed with him. He has started sticking his tongue out a lot today and also trying to grab it with his fingers. Very odd but hilarious. Not so great during lunch.

Tonight we had Gran, Grumpa, Grandma, Grandad and Uncle C over to wish Aidan a happy birthday and bring him toys, of course! Again Aidan was a little star he even ate some of the birthday cake I made him. At previous birthday parties he has spat the cake out, I was beginning to wonder if he had a sweet tooth at all!!

He went to bed a bit later tonight but is now sound asleep. Hope he can keep his energy levels up for his party on Saturday!
