What's behind the green door?

An early morning start for a trip to London. Standing on the local station, I noticed firstly that an archway and stair up to the old ticket-office (now domestic housing) had been blocked off with a green painted board - as had the outside steps through the garden - and there were "yellow tape" restrictions is place.

What is happening behind the green door?
