Emily won a pumpkin! :)

Today was day 2 of the Lodi Pumpkin Meet at Tokay High School. Just before we left the house this morning, one of the girls read the weather in the paper and told us there were showers headed our way. I thought we'd be alright as the meet would be over by about 2:00. . .no such luck. It started raining around 9:30 and didn't stop for most of the meet. I was in flip flops so my toes were a bit chilled and the boys were in shorts but didn't complain too much. The girls swam well and took time off of their personal bests in most events. Emily even won her heat in the 200 IM. This blip is of Emily with her heat-winner token before she picked out her pumpkin. She was pretty pleased with herself as she hasn't been swimming a lot lately due to her water polo schedule.

We returned home by 1:30. The rainy weather prompted me to make some cookies and cornbread to go with dinner. Gracie headed over to bible study with the Kirklands while Emily worked on homework and the others played. Later I drove Emily and Hannah and Olivia over to the church for their youth group bowling and brought Gracie and Caroline home.
