The building

I've not been able to find out the original purpose of this building, my favourite rumour is that it was once a top-hat factory.

It's just across the road from the small local hospital which stands on the site of an old workhouse so I'm guessing that it was once part of that.

The upper floors of the building aren't in use but parts of the ground floor are - it houses an Indian take-awsay, a taxi firm, a window factory and a private garage where a man renovates old sports cars.
