Leicesters` iconic Clock Tower, ask any one in the city `where shall we meet` and the`ll nearly always say `the clock tower`
Built in 1868 with public subscription and in memory of four benefactors and it`s a grade 2 listed building
At the moment time is standing still whilst the mechanism undergoes repairs for the first time in 70 years. The job is going to take about 7 weeks as the parts cannot be bought, so they`re going to have to be made from scratch.
It will be nice to see it working again.
