In the midst of death....

Hard to believe as I walk through the streets full of people wrapped up and braced against the bitter winds and the biting cold that there are still some flowers hanging on, even though they're up to their - stems - in dead leaves from the trees all around. Heavy snow (apparently) forecast for the end of the week, so that'll be the pretty Christmas blips coming in then!
This lovely pink rose was one of a handful still clinging on in there by the railings at Princes Street today.
The autumn leaves beneath it set off the colour of the rose beautifully. I liked it. Hope you do too.
