Subrosa, Kiel. It's a very, very long way from Wuppertal. We set off at 9am after the previous night's fabulous and magical gig at Donham hoping to reach the far north for a 2pm soundcheck. Eventually we rolled up to Subrosa at 3.30pm and were onstage by 4pm to an audience of fifteen people and three howling dogs. After the show, we packed up, had a delicious meal that I cried into through sheer exhaustion and then drove back down to Göttingen. We got there at 11.20pm. It felt like the world was out to get us. After two hours of daytime diversions, traffic jams at 10pm...? We picked down a side road in heavy fog...And then finally found our junction closed and a diversion in place. Our gracious and wonderful host, Anna, was waiting up for us in spite of her own jetlag, with the offer of hot food and warm showers in the morning.
