Wolfsbane

This is an image of one of the flowers from my Aconitum plant part of the buttercup or Ranunculaceae family. One of the most poisoness flowering plants in the garden due to the alkaloid aconitine, this plant was once used to poison wolves hence the name wolfsbane. Also known as monkshood from the shape of the attractive blue flower.

All parts of this plant are poisonous.
