Old and New

The QuarterMile in Edinburgh was supposed to be this wonderful development harmonising the Old and New - the gothic old Infirmary Building converted into flats with some modern shops and offices.

Well - the new stuff is certainly modern, but I don't see any harmonising going on.

There is just this one big unimaginative monolithic block of glass stuck beside the crinkly old bits.

Makes for nice reflections, but that's about it.
