Living Desert

It is a good thing I moved to the desert as I am intrigued by all things spikey and there is no shortage of spikey things here in the Palm Springs area. Today, my wife and I spent a very enjoyable three hours walking around The Living Desert.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I had very few images from which to choose, but today I had more than enough and it was very difficult to whittle many quality shots down to the final image shown here. I ended up selecting this shot because of the contrast of spikey and flowery.

It just goes to show that the the National Geographic seminar I attended that stated "to take better photos you have to stand in front of better stuff" was really true. The "better stuff" at The Living Desert provided such a variety of plant and animal subjects that today's shots could fill my blip fotos for a month. Tomorrow, however, will be a new day and I will be looking for new photos yet again.
