Fungus

We went for a walk near the lake today. The forest was full of oaks and both sorts of chestnut whose nuts were well ripe and making swooshing sounds as they dropped from the trees. I have never seen so many fruit. The French don't seem to know about games of conker bashing. However, we used the walk to collect as many sweet chestnuts as we could which we roasted and ate later. The weather was just perfect for the fungus too with many different varieties. We none of us had the confidence to choose and pick any mushrooms though we did identify a few which we knew to be poisonous.
