I took quite a few shots of H spinning his wooden rings this afternoon. It's an obsession of his: for months he had us spin rings, coasters, anything remotely round in fact and tried to copy us. Eventually his persistence paid off and he learnt how to do it himself. It's a precocious skill apparently - the nursery tell me they've never known another child his age be able to do it, nor to pursue an activity with such dedication. I have a feeling it's why he hasn't been bothered about learning to walk yet. I have absolutely no idea what this indicates about his future interests... England cricket team perhaps??
Anyway - after reviewing the photos I kept coming back to this one. It might seem an odd choice, but I still have in mind Catherine & my boys recent blip and her beautiful write up. I've always loved H's fine, wispy blond hair (especially gorgeous when it's all sticking up after a hair wash, or a long nap) and I love the fact that I haven't had to have his hair cut yet, so it still has a baby-like charm. I also just love little boys in dungarees and intend to keep dressing him in them until he's old enough to object!
