The Float Is Done!

Today was good. Not great, but pretty close.

The day was moving rather quickly and I got to leave 8th period for the pep rally, then a short cross country practice, finishing the float, and then dinner at Friendly's and Gwen's house with Jess and Gwen.

Today was our pep rally! All of the athletes got to leave 8th period to get ready for it. This really meant that the dance team and cheerleaders changed and got warmed up while everyone else hung out in the back gym for 40 minutes?it was boring but I got out of class for it! We got our team jackets today! They are sooooooo cool! The girls also got t-shirts with the saying "We've got an edge, 'cause we've got Hedge" in honor of our fantastic coach, Mr. Hedge. He really is a great coach!

We sat on the field and stood up when the boys cross country team was called. They played a song for every team and of course our song was lollipop. We stood up, snapped for a while, and sat back down. I AM SO PEPPED UP!!!!
After the pep rally, I wandered the hallways with Jess for a while. After exploring for about 10 minutes, guess who I stumbled upon? IT WAS JILL!!!!! She was looking at one of the showcases and reminiscing about her time here. Jill is the one who got me started with blip! Her journal is Jillybean, and I STRONGLY suggest that you take a look at it. Jill's back from Marist for the weekend and decided to visit the school with her boyfriend, Anthony, who she affectionately calls "buttface" HOW CUTE :)

After a short practice, me and Brendan visited the middle school to say hello to our old teachers. We got to talk to THE BEST SCIENCE TEACHER EVER for about 15 minutes! I miss him so much :( After talking to him, we went back to the high school and we went our separate ways.

My mom came and took me to Andrew's house to finish the float. I feel really bad that I?ve only been able to help at one other construction session (I should have gone to more because I'm the president...) but I was busy every time they were working and every session that I could have made was cancelled. Oh well, the float is done and it looks great! This is (in no particular order) me, Anthony, Jess, Tyler, Kenny, Ricky, Mrs. A. and Mrs. O. Just in case you couldn't tell, out theme is Blue' Clues.

When we finished building, me and Jess walked back to her house and waited for Gwen to pick us up and take us to Friendly's. We ate, talked, and managed not to make a mess until at the very last moment as we were about to leave, me and Jess knocked over a soda while in the middle of an intense thumb-wrestling match. We quickly left...When we got to Gwen's house, we sat and talked for 2 and a half hours. Jess took me home at 10:30 and now I'm here...

Tomorrow is homecoming! I'm missing the parade for a meet and I have to go to church and play the cello with the choir at 5:30 mass so I might be a little late to the 6:00 game. I hope I make it in time for the half-time show! The winners of the float contest will be announced and I heard that the marching band show is supposed to be really good.
