NO SURRENDER
I have had to accept that it is autumn, and late autumn at that, but I refuse to yield to it. You will not get one single autumn leaf pic from me.
These cascading petunias are tumbling over stone walls, both white and red ones, the striped four o' clock begs to be photographed, the wild rocket, bachelor's buttons and mint would not object. There are still a few forlorn bees about. Until the frost comes to claim them all, I will got give in.
The plastic panels went up around the porch today. It's thick plastic, as thick as glass, but not as heavy. This does not make a cozy sun porch because there are too many gaps where the sides meet the stone walls of the house, but it does provide a place to over winter potted plants and to keep a wheel barrow full of wood. It's a sad day when these go up. Pavarotti is singing "Oh, sole mio" in the background. Oh, my sun, indeed. It has buzzed off to the southern hemisphere.
There is nothing doing on the olive scene today but terrace clearing.
