Dutch Admiralty Lion
This fine fellow is in Amsterdam at the former Dutch Admiralty. Originally a convent in the late middle ages. It became a Residence for Prinzen en Groote Heeren after the Reformation. It was stayed at by William the Silent himself and other members of the House of Orange.
It then became the Admiralty and then City Hall after Napoleon's brother Jerome became King of the Netherlands and evicted the City Council from Damm Square. In the 80s it was converted into a hotel
