More crap.....

......following on from yesterday's doggy poo exchange shot, here's one from the back lane. This part of Whitley Bay was built (following the opening of the local suburban railway loop linking the coast with Newcastle upon Tyne) around about the 1880's, houses went up in their hundreds before the local mains drainage/sewerage system caught up with the building boom. This is a bricked up 'night soil' hatch from someone's backyard 'netty'......phwaar, I bet it was a smelly job emptying them!
