Yes, this is a picture of the $30,000 BCS National Championship trophy. Awarded to the winner of the BCS National Championship game, this trophy is famously hoisted above players' heads after a national championship season.

So what is it doing at a Kroger in Morgantown?

I spoke with the representative from Dr. Pepper, he explained to me the business relationships between the trophy, the BCS, the NCAA, and Dr. Pepper. The trophy travels to various Kroger supermarkets across the nation every Wednesday. Since we have a game tomorrow night (vs USF on ESPN) they brought it here. I was allowed to pose for a picture, however, I could not touch the trophy. I also got a free 2 liter of Dr. Pepper. Not a bad haul, overall.
