Daisypatra
This is Daisy.
She is a unique wee monkey. I love her to bits and I love her unique take on the world.
This is our third day in London and we are having a toptastic time. Today we walked for a long way. Bus to London Bridge then walked to Westminster Abbey and then on to Victoria and Albert Museum and Natural History Museum. Just a fantastic day. Kids been great.
So... Daisy is doing a project on Egypt at school and never noticed how much Egyptian stuff is about in London before, must have been real fashionable at one point.
This was a sphinx guarding an Egyptian obelisk brought back to London in the early 1800's. The obelisk dated from 1500 bc!!! That's pretty old. Daisy was beside herself and loved it.
Then after being immersed in all this history today I got to thinking how amazing all the artefacts were and how great it was to see them. Thousands maybe even millions of man hours spent on the creations... But then it struck me there was a sadness to it that they had to be saved, salvaged, stolen from all around the world to be put in one place like a big stone zoo!!!
So Daisy summed it up for me by asking
"Dad, how many of the things did Indiana Jones got for them?"
Thanks for looking.
