Light. Lighting is almost everything when it comes to photography.
Light. Lines. Perspective. Angle. Subject.
This is simply my opinion.

After our early evening walk, I noticed the lines of light coming through our fence from the spotlight about. Florescent lighting. And in this case, I tried to use it to my advantage.



My son watched me edit this photo and kept saying, "more color Mommy, I like the color". And 99% of the time, I like the color as well. But tonight I explained that this photograph really needed to be in black and white. This look represented my vision.


I wanted to pull the detail out of the bright white lines. By taking the color away from the flower, my eye focuses more on the angles created by the light. The movement of the lines that dance over the subtle tones of the flower.

Working with light, something that is becoming a new focus of mine.
