At Attention

The Boy was issued his Navy Junior ROTC PT gear today. Had to get a picture. Couldn't figure out why he was standing so rigid until it dawned on me that he was standing at attention. Now if he would only snap to attention like that when I give orders... :) Dress uniforms will be coming soon.

JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training) is a class at the local high school. This particular platoon is a Navy unit. Given that we live in coastal community, it makes sense. His participation in this class will allow him to satisfy his PE (physical education) credit requirement as well as some of his elective requirements. It does not obligate him for future military service. It's a very strong program here and the kids love it.
