Day 278 of 365
Visited Naples, Italy today. We toured the ancient city of Pompeii. What amazed me most about this town wasn't the actual city itself, which was neat. But the excavation of it. All of this was buried under 60 feet of volcanic rock. Walking around this city which stretches many city blocks it's mind boggling to think about how much rock they had to carefully chip away to uncover everything that is currently visible.
In this shot is the main square of Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius looming in the background.
