Inari Fushimi
Here's Dom at Inari Fushimi, today's destination.
Inari Fushimi was an amazing place. Literally thousands of these sacred gates were erected on a mounting, creating long, winding, red corridors to lead you to the top. Apparently, this was the setting for a scene in the film of Memoirs of a Geisha.
The shrine is covered in stone foxes, which are effigies of the God Inari (which funnily enough, I made a purple papier mache mask of when I was 12). here's a snap of his face of the back of someone's head!
I also bought a silk kimono jacket on the shrine grounds. I'm very pleased with it!
