how long?!

Mr. and Mrs. Spitzimixi after 14 years of marriage.

14 years ago today we came home from a rainy camping trip, I went for a job interview*, then we went and got married. I was wearing a biker jacket and a mini skirt and had my head shaved. No idea what he was wearing, there are no photos. We forgot the ring, only had two guests and I got the giggles halfway through and only just managed to splutter out a 'yes' at the right moment. After the 'ceremony' we went and got hammered.

Three children, a number of international moves and job changes later - here we are, still married. Even though neither of us really thinks that marriage is relevant to anything at all, we only did it so I got a visa to stay here. These days we tend to dress a bit smarter but, today we are apple-picking and scruffing around at home. We're nearly as scruffy as the day we got married - just a few wrinkles older ;-)

* and got the job - as a stone mason, which I did until I got pregnant with daughter #1, lugging big stones and pregnancy don't go together.
