Milano's Duomo and skyscrapers
Milano never fails to delight despite it always being hazy and smoogy when I am there. Two saints on the top of the Duomo watch over Milano's new skyscapers in cityscape rise.
Milano largely leveled in World War II. By the 1960's just 15 years later it had replaced Paris as the Fashion capital with names by the likes of Prada, D&G, and Gucci. Additionally it is an interesting mixture of gothic to contemporary buildings due to the extensive damage from the war.
The Duomo was under construction for almost 500 years (1386-1812) and it likely one of the most impressive gothic/all the following styles to 1812 cathedrals in the world
