The Old Calcutta

We visited Kumartuli, the place where Idols are created for the pujas. Now, that only 3 days are remaining, the artists are quickening the process by drying them through hot burning flames. I am sure they have been in the making of this art for decades now, and they know exactly about its readiness - how and when.

While going through the narrow lanes of this part of the city, one can see various kind of lives existing and being accommodated at the same time, doing their kind of things that they like. They simply seem to take pleasure in doing what they are doing, and not for the sake of work that needs to be done. And most interestingly, they enjoy doing it all in open.

And now for the food items, I have been listing down the spices I would want to carry along with me - kalo jeere, pushto, radhuni, paanch forang, amchur.. the list should go on.
