Richard Corrigan
Covering the London Restaurant Festival Gourmet Odyssey today for Visit London..
Starting at the Met Bar, guests are transported between three high end London restaurants by Routemaster bus. A course in each restaurant. Starters at The Greenhouse, veal carpaccio with air-dried tuna and Sicilian lemon, prepared by shy head chef Antonin Bonnet.
Mains are a hearty game pie, roast loin of venison, pumpkin and chestnut prepared by Corrigan's head chef and business partner Chris McGowan, who is certainly one to watch. He was totally switched on for a very full-on service, probably the most entertaining to watch of all three chefs. As with Ramsey, I introduced myself with a firm handshake and left with 'thank you chef!' shouted loudly across the busy pass.
My third chef was Yoshinori Ishi, head chef of Umu.
As it was the end of my shoot I was allowed pudding, a chiramisu (Japanese tiramisu) with matcha tea, gink sake, kumquat chutney and orange sorbet, a delight.
Oh and if you wonder why I haven't posted Gordon Ramsey from last night, it's because I have to ask his permission first.
