What I did today...
Today I had another blue and white lesson. I learned how to use the chicken head brush to fill in the solid colors. It was a little tricky and more practice is definitely in order, but for my first big pot, I think it went pretty well. I'm going to take the vase to a community kiln in the next few days to be fired since there are no immediate plans for a gas kiln firing at the studio. Apparently, I can also have someone glaze it for me there. I'm probably going to take advantage of that; I don't really want to botch it with a bad glaze job. If I had a bunch of pieces that I needed to have fired I could hire someone with a cart to take them to the kiln for me!
In addition to finally finishing my big vase today I also had 13 cups come out of a glaze kiln. Mainly they are just tests, practicing lines and fill and clear glazing.
